How do you decide what makes it to the top 10?
Our top 10 lists are purely subjective. We do our best to consider all sorts of factors when deciding what makes it to our top 10 lists. For instance, when deciding on restaurants, we consider price, service, quality of food, and how well the restaurant fulfills its genre– all the things you would look for in a good restaurant. Some people will agree with our lists, some will not. These are simply our recommendations based on our own experiences.

Why did you start Top 10 Sarasota?
Living in Sarasota, we’ve come to realize how difficult it can be to decide what to do, where to go, where to eat . . . Sarasota is a great city full of thousands of choices for dozens of goods and services, and that can be as much a blessing as it is a hassle. We decided to help other Sarasota residents and visitors by providing condensed, easy-to-use lists of top 10 choices for all sorts of establishments. Sarasota has been good to us, and we love to give back to the wonderful visitors and residents of our great city.

Are you actual Sarasota residents?
Yes, we are year-round residents of Sarasota.

Do companies pay you to be placed in the top 10 lists?
No. While we do have paid sponsors who advertise on our site, we do not "sell" spots on the top 10 lists. If you see a company who is on a top 10 list and advertising on the site, it is merely a coincidence. We choose the top 10 lists on our own without regard to advertising revenue.

Some categories don’t have 10 listings. Why?
There are a few reasons why a category might not have a full 10 listings. Sometimes there simply aren’t 10 establishments in town that offer a certain product or service. Sometimes, we simply don’t feel that there are 10 "true" top listings for a given category. Remember, you can alway leave a suggestion if you feel we’ve missed something– we want to hear what you have to say.

What if I don’t agree with your list? Can I leave a suggestion?
Not everyone is going to agree with our opinions, and we do welcome reader suggestions. Simply email us with your suggestion, indicating the category and sub-category (if applicable) of the company/establishment you’re recommending.

Why don’t I see my establishment on Top 10 Sarasota?
We do our best to include what we consider the greatest that Sarasota has to offer. But if you don’t see your business listed on our site, there are a few things that might be going on: 1) we may not know about your business; 2) we’ve never tried your place, so we can’t comment; 3) we don’t feel that your business meets our criteria at this time. If you’re a local business owner and want to know more, please contact us with your request.

Can I leave feedback on a particular list?
Sure! Top 10 Sarasota is for you, and we want to hear your opinions. You’ll see a feedback form at the end of every top 10 list where you can leave your comments for others to read. Your feedback will be sent to us for approval first to avoid problems with spam or inappropriate content. You can also email us with your feedback if you prefer.

Can I suggest a whole new category?
Of course! We try our best to cover as many categories as possible, but Sarasota has so much to do and see that we may have missed something. Just email us with your suggestions, and we’ll get back to you!
