Sarasota Film Festival Opening Night Movie

Blackfish
The opening movie for the film festival, "Blackfish," was a documentary on killer whales in captivity. Not only was it filled with moving personal stories from ex-trainers themselves, but it also followed the life of killer whale, Tillikum. This film showed the hard truth behind the lives of these whales and the mental and physical pain they go through. It also portrays how oblivious most humans are to what is really happening right in front of their eyes. Although the film will overwhelm you with sadness at points, it will also make you look at things through a new perspective. This is by far one of the most amazing, hard hitting documentaries I have ever seen. The documentary will be featured in theaters this summer.
